Agenda for Board of Directors Meeting
July 17, 2008

Membership on the Board of Directors of the Community Action Council of South Texas is limited to a total of nineteen(19) representatives from Brooks, Duval, Jim Hogg, Starr, and Zapata Counties.

Thirteen(13) seats of the CACST Board are reserved for representatives from Brooks, Jim Hogg, Starr, and Zapata Counties who are active users of the services provided by the Community Health Clinics. One of the seats reserved for users is filled by a migrant or seasonal farmworker. These thirteen seats also comprise the "representatives of the poor" membership for these three counties.

Juan M. Cantu, Executive Director Twelve(12) seats are currently reserved for non-users. Eight(8) of these seats are reserved for persons who are elected or appointed public officials from the five(5) counties represented on the Board of Directors. Two(2) of these twelve(12) seats are reserved for "representatives of the poor" from Duval County. The other two(2) seats are filled by persons from within the catchment are of CACST who are selected for their expertise in areas including but not limited to community affairs, finance and banking, legal affairs, trade unions, and health and social services.

Membership is allocated as follows but may be reallocated from time to time reflect the number and origin of registrants receiving services at the service sites and/or satellites by county:
